Trading my TV for.... a Muzzleloader?

1 Attachment(s)
So I've got our older 48" TV for sale on craigslist for $185. I've also got it listed in the barter section, where I've received some interesting requests for trades. Now I am looking to get $ to put toward a shotgun or rifle, or trade for something useful.

A recent email...
Quote:

I have a 50cal black powder muzzleloader, Hawken style, in perfect condition to trade...It has a fiber optic front sight and some accessories such as powder measure, cleaning swab and 3 speed loaders......any interest in trading for the TV?

and...

The muzzleloader is made in Spain and is a Hawken model. It's modelled after the Thompson Center Hawken. As you probably know, it's a single shot rifle, exactly like those used 150 years ago. In fact, there is a special season devoted to muzzleloaders for deer that extends the deer season a full week for black powder weapons only. What's kind of cool about black powder weapons is that you use the amount of powder charge you want...so you start out with 30-40 grains with very little kick (obviously affects the range) and work your way up to the amount you feel most comfortable with. My gun comes with a supply of 50caliber balls and patches....I have powder but it's a couple years old at least and it's best to use new powder every season. Most anything to do with muzzleloaders is pretty affordable and it's a really cool, unique way to shoot and/or hunt. I have another black powder rifle (my original one) or I wouldn't be trading the 50 cal........please see attached picture. By the way, once you shoot a black powder rifle, you'll always own one......
Sounds like a very nice guy, very informative when I told him I know nothing about muzzle loaders. I'm sure he'd even give me a lesson shooting it.

Now do you think this sounds like a good trade? I could care less about the TV, but at the same time I'm not necessarily looking for a muzzle loader. Think I should hold out for some cash and put it toward something else? I'm sure it would be a good back up piece for hunting though, and ammo is pretty cheap for these it looks like?

Any advice here?
Thanks

Concentrate on picking up the essentials first ........ then if there is cash left over you can pick up some cool side trinkets.

But that is way nice though I must admit.

Most definitely, exchange the worthless TeeVee for any tangible goods immediate.

I'd do it in a heartbeat. For $185, you're getting a complete muzzeloading set-up and instruction, sounds like an outstanding deal to me, if the gun is in good shape.

Well I was trying to hold out for the cash. Closest offer I've gotten is $100 though. I think it would be a good trade too...going to see if the guy's still got it.
